Preschool

Welcome to Preschool

Welcome to Preschool. Mr Scorer and Mrs Caden work in our class. We are looking forward to lots of exciting and fun learning, making new friends and sharing our learning with our families. Throughout the year, we will regularly use our outdoor areas to support our learning and to expose the children to a broader variety of experiences. We will work hard, be resilient and try our best in everything that we do.

Autumn

After settling into our class routines our first topic will be ‘What makes me special?’ We will explore how we are similar and different and what makes each of us unique. We will join in with lots of rhymes or songs and share stories about families and communities. We will explore Autumn and Winter weather followed by learning about special celebrations including birthdays and Christmas. This will culminate in performing a Christmas Sing-A-Long.

Spring

Our next topic will explore more stories, rhymes or songs. We will find out about changes in relation to the seasons and the weather as we explore ice and melting and towards the end of the term we will find out what happens in Spring and how things grow. This will culminate in growing our own plants and then observing its growth and changes over time.

Summer

Finally, ‘Dinosaurs and beasties’ we will explore our local environment and visit the woods and the pond. We will find out about animals and insects that live there and recognise similarities and differences between them.
