Good afternoon everyone,
As we approach the end of an extraordinary half term, on behalf of the Governing Body, I’d like to extend my thanks to parents and carers for the positive and supportive way in which you have reacted to the measures we have put in place to support both the children in school and the home learning which you have played such a key part in.
Our staff have worked so very hard to produce the content for the online learning system and the contact calls have been very well received.
Our priority during this half term has been to safeguard the needs of all pupils and this includes maintaining positive mental health as well as ensuring a safe physical environment is enjoyed by those children who have been in attendance.
Following the government announcement on 10th May, our next challenge is to make suitable adjustment to our normal daily routine in order to provide for the gradual, safe return of pupils and staff.
Governmental guidance is being updated regularly and our risk assessments are adjusted accordingly. The Leadership Team is working very closely with the Governing Body during this planning and preparation phase, seeking appropriate advice from the local authority, to ensure we assess and mitigate the perceived risks associated with the phased reopening of our school.
Mrs Boyd has already released some initial information and this will continue to be updated as further guidance becomes available. I would ask for your patience and understanding as we all work hard to develop safe working practices which protect both the children and the staff.
The Governing Body is proud of how the staff of Shotton Hall Primary School have reacted to the whole pandemic situation. We do know, however, that occasionally, a parent has expressed dissatisfaction with our approach. Should you have questions or queries I would strongly urge you to use the contact page on our school website to communicate with us. We will endeavour to answer such enquires as fully as we can, as soon as we are able. Alternatively, the school’s complaints policy is also available on the website and the procedures set out in the policy should be followed in the event that you wish to express any concerns. All such concerns or complaints will be treated seriously.
Thank you for working with us in such a unique set of circumstances and please be absolutely assured that we view the safety and well-being of the whole school community as our number one priority at this time.
